Dog Boots Protect from More than Just the Elements

Even if we think dog boots only protect our pets’ paws from the weather, why don’t more dog owners use them? Would you ever dream of going barefoot outside in the cold rain and snow, or walking across scorching pavement on a hot summer’s day? The obvious use for dog boots would probably be in the snow, when balls of snow will clump up in the animal’s fur, which can be very hazardous for the health of the dog. You may want to consider their use in the rain as well, which will keep the fur and pads warm and dry, and reduce the amount of cleanup needed in your home. However, it is not just during the winter or in unpleasant weather conditions that we should be covering our pets’ paws; hot pavement and excessive exercise will damage the pads, and risks such as broken glass, thorns and sharp rocks will cause needless pain to our furry friends.
