Dog House Plans for the Do-It-Yourselfer
While quality pet care may be hard on the budget, one way
to ease the load on the wallet is to find a set of dog house
plans and spend some time building a home for your four-legged
friend. If starting from scratch, a visit the local lumberyard
for the necessary wood and hardware should be all you need to be
on your way. If you have a knack for architectural drawing, you
may be happy to create your own dog house plans, although that
avenue, obviously, does not work for everyone.
If you are not comfortable with designing your own dog house plans,
there are many books and internet sites where these can be found.
Furthermore, if you are not all that efficient with measuring and
cutting wood, but are willing to spend some time on assembly, there
are a number of kits available, where all the wood is pre-cut in the
proper sizes and dimensions, and all hardware is included. Even if
you have never built anything like this, don not be afraid to give it
a try, as they come with explicit, easy to follow instructions, and
you just might surprise yourself!
Depending on your budget, size of your pet, and space to contain the
finished product, there are a number of dog house plans to choose from.
Just like our own homes, a well-built, properly insulated dog house will
help keep your pet warm and dry in the winter, and provide shade and a
little coolness on the sultry summer days. From simple rectangular shaped
boxlike houses, to miniature, multi-roomed mansion replicas, there is bound
to be a design on the market to fit yours and Fido’s needs.
